Bare Necessity

I was reflecting on the bible passage on “Satan Tempts Jesus”. I took interest in the 3 questions that Satan asked.

1) If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.
2) If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down (from the pinnacle of the temple).
3) All these things (all the kingdoms of the world and their glory) I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.

And I asked myself the 3 questions.

1) What is my bare necessity?

Is it food, money, health, music, family and friends, dreams?  How much do I believe that God provides? In the old testament, food rained down from heaven in the desert. Food doesn’t rain down anymore. Of course, unless you are in the case of Cloudy with a chance of Meat Balls.

To Jesus, God’s word is enough and sufficient for him. He is able to put His COMPLETE trust in God, knowing that God will provide when the time comes. Indeed, He has provided for all of us.

A friend that calls us at the right time when we needed a listening ear.
A special act of kindness.
Maybe a special chance to be kind to others.
Talents that we have to complete our task
Most of all, our jobs.

I have heard endless complains about work, job and colleagues. Do we truly see the hand of God providing us our job? From application to interviews to getting selected. It is God’s hand at work. He provides.
